Ahoy there…
Welcome to my blog! The past three weeks here at VFS have been amazing! I’ve already learned so much about the industry that I hadn’t even considered, and all of the term 1 classes have been awesome. In Andrew Laing’s level design class, we’ve just wrapped up the Neverwinter Nights editor, and have transitioned nicely into the Unreal engine. Hopefully, I’ll have some better luck with UT2K4…
Last week we had several excursions from the classroom. Monday saw us visiting the Vancouver Art Gallery, and on Thursday we analyzed the architecture and elements of a real environment: the streets of Vancouver. It’s all about the vantage point.
Adjusting from the high school environment has been a bit of a challenge, but I think I’ve caught on… Here’s a little hint: don’t procrastinate. I’ve quickly discovered that leaving assignments until shortly before they’re due is not a good plan of attack.
